CGPD Collecting Funds for Maui Wildfire Victims

The Coral Gables Police Department, Florida Highway Patrol, GEM - Global Empowerment Mission, The American Red Cross and multiple law enforcement agencies have partnered with Mobile Mike to coordinate a Maui Wildfire Relief Effort.

We will be assisting those who have been severely affected by the wildfires. Our immediate assistance will come in the form of GEM’S BStrong cash cards, which offers survivors the flexibility of purchasing whatever supplies they need most. We will also be offering Short-term accommodation assistance, long-term housing solutions and rebuilding projects to those whose homes have been severely damaged or destroyed in the fires. We will also be offering support for pets affected. We will be ensuring that those in Maui will be given .as much long-term support as needed.

There will be no clothing or used items accepted at any location at this time.

On-site monetary donations will be accepted on Wednesday, August 23rd, from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the Shops at Merrick Park courtyard on Salzedo Street and San Lorenzo Avenue.

Please make the check or money order payable to Global Empowerment Mission or the American Red Cross. To support the mission online, visit Global Empowerment Mission or American Red Cross. To donate by phone, please call the American Red Cross at 1-800-RED-CROSS.

Mobile Mike will be traveling to Maui and the surrounding areas alongside local and state law enforcement agencies to deliver donations.
